Elden Ring players need to seriously explore quests

  • Unlike other RPGs, Elden Ring’s lack of a quest log requires players to really pay attention to the dialogue and the world around them to follow certain NPC storylines. This also requires players to prepare enough Elden Ring Runes to improve themselves. But the beginning of a questline is so insidious that FromSoftware takes steps to make sure people are naturally drawn to it.

Boc the Seamster is easy to miss. He first appears in Limgrave, the introductory area where everyone’s Elden Ring adventure begins. When players first meet Boc, he disguises himself as a bush, and at the start of the game, only calls him when they stand up on his grill.

This allows adventurers who stick to the landmark should be able to hear the Boc from the nearby cobblestone road without venturing into the surrounding meadows. FromSoftware even added a rare purple item drop nearby to entice Tarnished to further explore the area where Boc is hiding, but it’s still up to the player to attack or roll into Boc’s jungle camouflage to reveal him.

Boc was introduced as an exception. He is a demi-human. Players may have killed him before finding him. When players encountered Boc, he was recently kicked out of a half-human lair on the Limgrave coastline, and offered to return to the lair to secure a reward for him to recover from the bushes. What follows is a sad story about Boc’s struggles with his appearance, and the various ways players can help him accept his destiny in life.

Elden Ring is huge. Most people won’t find all its secrets in one game. Even if you’ve hit triple figures, players are better off starting over and seeing what else to discover, especially as developers continue to add to the game and change existing content. But first, players still need to buy enough Elden Ring Runes at IGGM for a better experience.
